Few Changes Happened In West Indies Team For T20 World Cup

Few changes happened in the West Indies team for T20 World Cup , ICC announced.

The West Indies team, who have already qualified for the Super 12 of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, will play their second and last warm-up match today.

Earlier, there has been a change in the West Indies team. Before the T20 World Cup, there has been a change in the Caribbean team.

The replacement of the injured Fabian Allen was sought by the West Indies Cricket Board, which has been accepted by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

The ICC has informed that Akil Hossain has been given a chance in the West Indies team in place of injured all-rounder Fabian Allen, who will be part of the 15-man squad as a replacement.

The Event Technical Committee of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 has approved Aqeel Hossain as the replacement for Fabian Allen in the West Indies squad.

Left-arm spinner Akil Hossain has played nine ODIs and six T20 Internationals for the West Indies.

An ankle injury has ruled Fabian Allen out of the 2021 T20 World Cup and his replacement has been the entry of Aqeel Hossain, who was traveling with the team as a reserve.

Teams are allowed to travel with additional players in view of COVID-19 and quarantine requirements and for this reason, Aqeel Hossain was part of West Indies’ reserve squad, which has now been taken into the main squad.

Few changes happened in the West Indies team: Uncapped Gudakesh Moti has been included in the reserve list in place of Akil Hussain.

Please note that a replacement for a player in an ICC event requires the approval of the Event Technical Committee before the replacement player can be officially added to the team.

Chris Tetley (Head of Events, Chair), Clive Hitchcock (ICC Senior Cricket Operations Manager), Rahul Dravid, and Dheeraj Malhotra (BCCI Representative).

Simon Dole and Ian Bishop as independent members of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 Event Technical Committee are included.
