Four Arrested In NIA Raid, Objectionable Items Seized

Four arrested in NIA raid; Mobile, bank passbook, objectionable items seized: NIA Raids in Kashmir.

Continuing its campaign against terror, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday conducted searches at 11 places, including the homes of two confidants of late extremist Syed Ali Shah Geelani.

During the raids, the NIA seized mobile phones, memory cards, bank passbooks, some terrorist literature, and other incriminating material and arrested four people.

A total of 13 accused have been arrested in this case so far.

An NIA spokesperson said that the terrorist organizations Lashkar-e-Taiba, Al-Badr, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and Hizbul Mujahideen had planned large-scale subversive activities in different parts of the country.

Four arrested in NIA raid: The NIA detected this conspiracy in time and foiled it.

A case was registered in New Delhi on October 10 and an investigation was started in order to trace and catch all the anti-nationals, terrorists, and their supporters involved in this and to destroy the entire network.

In this case, on 12 and 13 October also, nine terrorists and their supporters have been arrested while conducting searches at various places in Jammu and Kashmir.

The spokesman said that on Wednesday, 15 teams had been prepared by the NIA to carry out this operation that lasted from morning till afternoon.

A joint working group of police and CRPF personnel was also deployed with each squad.

As part of this operation, which was conducted from Kulgam in South Kashmir to Sopore in North Kashmir.

Searches have been conducted at four places in Srinagar, two each in Baramulla and Awantipora, one each in Pulwama, Sopore, and Kulgam.

Those whose houses were raided include Arif Manzoor Shaikh of Fatehgarh in Baramulla and Abdul Rashid Rather of Adura in Baramulla.

Both of them are considered senior activists of the radical Hurriyat Conference and both were loyalists of the late radical Syed Ali Shah Geelani.

Searches were also conducted at the houses of Fahad Ali Wani in Hamdania Colony in Channapora of Srinagar and Furqan Imran Khan in Housing Colony Bagh Mahtab.

Rasheed Ahmed Butt’s house in Tibetan Colony was also searched and investigated.

During the raids, Suhail Ahmed Thokar from Kulgam, Kamran Ashraf Reshi from Hazratbal, and Raid Bashir and Hanan Gulzar Dar from Srinagar have been arrested. All these are being interrogated.
