French Open 2021: PV Sindhu enters the semi-finals of the French Open.

Indian women’s badminton star PV Sindhu continued her stellar run at the French Open to reach the semi-finals.

She had secured a place in the quarter-finals after defeating 24th-ranked Kristofferson in the world rankings on Thursday. She defeated eighth seed Busanan Ongbamrangphan of Thailand 21-14, 21-14.

Two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu reached the semi-finals of the French Open badminton tournament on Friday.

French Open 2021: Third seed Sindhu defeated eighth seed Busanan Ongbamrangphan of Thailand 21-14, 21-14 in the women’s singles quarterfinal bout.

This is Sindhu’s second consecutive win against this player. Sindhu had also defeated Busanan at the Denmark Open last week.

Sindhu won the first game 21-14 and then after scoring strong shots in the second set also finished the second game on the same scoreline to win the match.

Meanwhile, the men’s doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty defeated compatriots MR Arjun and Dhruv Kapila 15-21, 21-10, 21-19 to reach the quarterfinals.

Men’s singles player Saurabh Verma was knocked out of the tournament after going down 12-21, 9-21 to Kenta Nishimoto of Japan in the second round.

Pakistan cricket team led by Babar Azam landed in Dubai to play its third league match of T20 World Cup 2021 against Afghanistan.

In this match, Afghanistan captain Mohd. Nabi won the toss and decided to bat first. Afghanistan posted a score of 147 for 6 in 20 overs even after a poor start.

Pakistan achieved the target of victory by losing 5 wickets in 19 overs. This is Pakistan’s third consecutive win in the tournament and its semi-final ticket is almost confirmed.
