Ganguly said– We can force the players to a limit, On the cancellation of the Manchester Test.

The Indian cricket team was forced to leave for Dubai after ending the tour of England midway.

The last match of the five-match series was to be played from September 10 to September 14, but it had to be canceled in view of the Corona crisis.

BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has made it clear that he cannot field any player without his consent. In the Corona period, any player can be forced to play only to an extent.

Ganguly said, ‘In the last 18 months, due to Covid-19, the priority was to cancel the series.

BCCI canceled their home series against South Africa last year, causing us a loss of 40-50 million pounds (about Rs 407 crores to 509 crores).

He also expressed the hope that in the future there will be concrete medical advice in such cases so that the series can be continued even if cases of Covid are found inside the team.

The former India captain said, ‘Because we know how damaging it is in terms of viewers and television viewers, especially when such an exciting series is being played. Test cricket is the first priority of BCCI.

Ganguly said that BCCI is disappointed that this match could not be organized. He said, ‘The only reason for this was the outbreak of Covid-19 and the safety of the players.

We can force them (players to play) only to a certain extent. The pandemic is so bad that no one can go beyond a certain limit.’

Ganguly was asked whether senior players, who felt uncomfortable playing, were being considered for a new team after being rested, he replied in the negative.

“No, it was not an option as Yogesh Parmar (the junior physio who tested positive before the match) had close contact with all the players, so it was definitely a cause for concern,” he said.

It is something that no one has control over and the players had their families along with them.
