General MM Naravane retired from the post of Chief of Army Staff, ‘Guard of Honour’ found on the lawn of South Block.
After serving in the Indian Army for over 40 years and remaining in his last role for 28 months, Chief of the Army Staff General Manoj Mukund Naravane retired on Saturday.
In his role as the Chief of Army Staff, Naravane has ensured the highest standard of operational readiness to meet all the current and emerging challenges.
Also to develop the required capability and infrastructure with emphasis on the Northern and North-Eastern frontiers.
MM Naravane on Saturday laid a wreath at the National War Memorial and received a guard of honor on the lawns of South Block before demitting his post.
General MM Naravane retired: Let us tell you that General MM Naravane was born on 22 April 1960 in Pune and he is the son of a former officer in the Indian Air Force.
He is an alumnus of the National Defense Academy, Pune, and Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. He also has an M.Phil degree in Defense Studies.
Naravane has served in command and staff positions in peace, territory, and counter-terrorism environments in Jammu and Kashmir, and the Northeast.
In addition, he commanded a Rashtriya Rifles battalion in Jammu and Kashmir and an infantry brigade on the Eastern Front.
Let us tell you that with the retirement of MM Naravane, Manoj Pandey will become the Chief of the Army Staff.
Manoj Kumar Pandey will be the new chief of the Indian Army, succeeding MM Naravane as the Chief of the Army Staff. Earlier, Majaj Kumar Pandey was heading the Eastern Command of the Army.
He is the senior-most in the Indian Army after the retirement of some top officers in the last three months and has held the Eastern Command earlier as well.
At the same time, the name of MM Naravane is at the forefront for the post of Chief of Defense Staff (CDS).
