Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Limited (Glenmark) has launched a nasal spray, named Nitric Oxide, to treat adult corona infections in the country.

Glenmark has developed it in collaboration with a Canadian company SaNOtize. Nitric Oxide is launched in India under the Fabispray brand.

The company has also received approval for manufacturing and marketing from the drug regulator for the nasal spray.

The company claims that this nitric oxide-based nasal spray works to effectively eliminate the coronavirus on the upper surface of the nose.

It was seen during testing that it has proved the elimination of Covid-19 and the anti-microbial properties of the drug.

When this spray is sprayed on the nasal mucus, it creates a physical and chemical barrier to prevent the virus from multiplying and spreading in the body, thus preventing the virus from spreading to the lungs.

Describing the spray as an effective and safe antiviral treatment for COVID-19.
