Kerala: Shock to actor Mohanlal for possessing ivory tusk, the trial court directed to prosecute.

Kerala actor Mohanlal has received a setback for illegally possessing ivory tusks.

The trial court on Thursday dismissed the Kerala government’s plea seeking withdrawal of prosecution proceedings in the wildlife crime case registered against actor Mohanlal.

The actor will now have to face trial. First Class Magistrate Court Perumbavoor dismissed the petition of the state government.

In the petition, the government had argued that proceeding with the matter would be a futile exercise and a waste of “precious court time”.

It is worth noting that during the raid at the actor’s residence by the Income Tax Department, illegally kept ivory tusks were recovered. After which a case was registered by the Forest Department in 2012.

In the Rajya Sabha elections, Siddaramaiah first sought support, then refused, Kumaraswamy said – finally showed a double character.

Voting is underway for four Rajya Sabha seats in Karnataka. Many MLAs have reached the assembly to vote in the elections.

Meanwhile, HD Kumaraswamy, who arrived for voting, has taken a dig at Congress Legislature Party leader Siddaramaiah.

Kumaraswamy has come down heavily on Siddaramaiah for writing an open letter to the JD(S) MLAs.

The JDS leader said Siddaramaiah always maintains double standards. That is why today in front of the local media, he has spoken of not writing any letter to the JDS MLAs.

Kumaraswamy said that the Congress leader has also tweeted the letter from his social media account. Now refusing to take their support shows a double character.
