The government imposed a ban on Jammu and Kashmir National Front under UAPA, Shah said – The government will uproot terrorists.
The government on Tuesday banned Nayeem Ahmed Khan-led Jammu and Kashmir National Front (JKNF) for five years. This action has been taken under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA).
Home Minister Amit Shah has said that the government is committed to rooting out terrorist forces to ensure the security of the people of India.
The Home Minister posted on Twitter, that JKNF was found to be carrying out separatist activities aimed at secession of Jammu and Kashmir from India and supporting terrorism, challenging the sovereignty, security, and integrity of the nation.
The Home Ministry has issued an order declaring JKNF, a constituent of the fundamentalist Hurriyat Conference, as an illegal organization with immediate effect.
This order will remain effective for five years. The government said that JKNF is a threat to the integrity, sovereignty, and security of the country.

JKNF members have been involved in promoting separatism in Jammu and Kashmir and supporting terrorist activities and anti-India propaganda in the Union Territory.
It is also said that JKNF members have been involved in organizing violent protesters in different parts of Kashmir to carry out unlawful activities including pelting stones at security forces.
Manipur Police, National Investigation Agency (NIA), and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) have arrested two key members of the United National Liberation Front (UNLF) (P) in a joint operation.
Officials gave this information on Wednesday. He said self-proclaimed army chief Thokchom Thoiba of the banned outfit and Lieutenant Colonel Laimayum Ingba, associated with UNLF (P), were arrested during the joint operation.
Officials said the National Investigation Agency (NIA) had announced a cash reward for information leading to Thoiba’s arrest.
