Government increased the supply of gas supply companies in cities, and amended the earlier order.

The government on Wednesday allocated some quantity of natural gas to industries ranging from city gas distribution companies to bring down the prices of CNG and piped cooking gas (PNG).

The petroleum ministry said an earlier order has been amended to increase the allocation of domestically produced gas to gas distributors in the city.

This information was given by the leading news agency. Till now, about 83 percent of the demand was met through this.

Ministry officials said the allocation for gas distribution companies in cities such as Delhi’s Indraprastha Gas Ltd and Mumbai’s Mahanagar Gas Ltd has been increased from 17.5 million cubic meters per day to 27.878 million cubic meters per day.

The increased allocation will meet 94 percent demand for piped LPG and CNG supply for vehicles in the country.
