According to the news agency, so far 3.22 crore samples have been tested for Covid in the state. On Thursday, 1,58,442 samples were tested for corona.

The local body elections in Karnataka have been postponed at a time when there is speculation that Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa should be removed from the post.

State BJP in-charge and national general secretary Arun Singh is holding separate meetings with leaders and MLAs.

Arun Singh Yediyurappa, who reached Bengaluru on Wednesday evening, has held a meeting with all the ministers including state BJP president Nalin Kumar Kateel.

The opposition Congress and JD(S) have demanded the dismissal of the BS Yediyurappa-led government.

On the other hand, BJP’s disgruntled MLA Arvind Bellad has called himself a threat to his life, accusing him of phone tapping as part of the conspiracy.

On the other hand, the opposition Congress and JDS have demanded the dismissal of the Yeddyurappa government, terming the entire incident as promoting anarchy in the absence of leadership.

Sources said that Arun Singh, who reached Bengaluru on Wednesday evening, had a meeting with the ministers in the presence of CM Yeddyurappa and BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel.

His personal meeting with MLAs and MPs on Thursday was earlier scheduled to be held at the Kumarakpura guest house.

But due to the threat of secrecy and Covid, it was shifted to Jagannath Bhavan, the party office in Malleswaram, at the last moment.
