GST Aims To Take Monthly Collection To 2 Lakh Crores

GST aims to take the monthly collection to 2 lakh crores, focus of department to business-to-business.

The government, which has opened the treasury for the development of industry and trade, has now started increasing the GST collection as well.

The government aims to raise the monthly recovery of GST to Rs 2 lakh crore. The record collection of GST was Rs 1.2 lakh crore in January this year.

According to the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), preparations are underway at several levels to touch this level.

A senior CBIC official said that the department is currently focusing more on business-to-business (B-to-B) to increase GST collections.

He said that more than 80 percent of GST is being collected from 10 percent B-to-B segment. The department is working towards further strengthening the B-to-B collection system.

The department believes that GST collections through small businesses will only increase when fully digital payments begin.

Keeping in mind the increase in GST collections, several rules have also been announced in the budget which will be implemented from April. According to CBIC sources, exports with tax are also being eliminated.

Currently, exporters export with tax which they get a refund from the customs department. In the new financial year, exporters will have to fill only one form of tax and verify it.

Due to this, the customs department will not have to give refunds and the disturbances through this medium will also be stopped.

Matters are being dealt with by looking at the online price

For the last few days, a strong campaign has been carried out by CBIC to prevent GST evasion. Officials of CBIC are disposing of cases on the spot without getting hold of goods without bills.

In this work, they are taking the help of online platforms. Recently, authorities caught a cosmetics company with unbilled goods.

The officials went to an e-commerce website to assess the price of the goods and looked at the prices and after assessing the value of the entire goods, the company paid a fine.

ESIC beneficiaries will be able to get treatment in private hospitals if the distance from home will be treated in nearby hospitals

The government has provided the facility of treatment to the beneficiaries of ESI health insurance scheme in a private hospital close to home.

The Labor Ministry said in a statement that the beneficiaries who do not have an ESIC hospital within 10 km radius of residence, can undergo treatment in the nearby private hospitals empaneled by the ESIC panel.

According to the statement of the Ministry of Labor, there has been a big increase in the number of beneficiaries due to the expansion of the ESI scheme in new areas as well.

In such a situation, now the infrastructure is constantly being expanded to provide medical facilities near their residence.
