During testing at Swami Vivekananda Airport in Mana, capital of Chhattisgarh, Raipur, the helicopter of the Chhattisgarh government crashed while landing at around 9 pm on Thursday night.
In this accident, the pilot and co-pilot died on the spot. This is the first incident of a helicopter crash at Mana airport.
According to the information, senior pilot AP Srivastava and co-pilot Gopalkrishna Panda were on board the helicopter during testing on Thursday.
During the landing at around 9 pm, the helicopter crashed with a loud bang. This caused panic at the airport.
On receiving the information, the team of CISF and Fire Brigade reached the spot and somehow rescued the trapped pilot and co-pilot inside.
Both the pilots of the helicopter were seriously injured in the accident. Those who were immediately admitted to a hospital in the area after conducting a rescue operation. T
here the doctors declared both of them brought dead. The helicopter is said to have been badly damaged after the accident.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has condoled the death of the pilot and co-pilot in the accident by tweeting.
AP Srivastava and Gopalkrishna Panda were critically injured and were immediately rushed to Ramakrishna Care Hospital.
