Heroin worth Rs 5 cr seized from Vasai in ATS raid; two arrested.

Heroin worth over Rs 5 crore was seized and two people arrested at Pelhare, Vasai on Sunday as part of an operation carried out by the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad.

A joint team of ATS’s Juhu and Thane units conducted raids on Saturday, which resulted in the seizure of 1,724 grams of heroin, Rs 2.6 lakh in cash, two mobile phones, and material worth Rs 5.17 crore in the international market.

ATS said that it is used for the smuggling of drugs.

Aleem Akhtar (46) and Chhota Nasir (40), residents of Haridwar in Uttarakhand, have been arrested in this case, while the search is on for a man, who used to smuggle drugs into a secret place made of shoes.

Akhtar and Nasir have been sent to ATS custody till February 15.

7 kg heroin worth 21 crores seized.

A few days ago, in Maharashtra, the Anti Narcotic Cell of Mumbai Crime Branch, taking big action, caught a woman with 7 kg of heroin worth 21 crores from the Sion area.

This female drug supplier was taken into custody and interrogated. It was identified as Amina Hamza Sheikh alias Lali, a resident of Mankhud.

According to the Mumbai ANC official, the seized heroin was to be distributed to other drug suppliers and customers operating in Mumbai.

The woman was earlier arrested by ANC’s Worli and Ghatkopar team in 2015 and 2018 for her alleged role in supplying banned drugs.

This major action was taken on the basis of specific information by the officials of the Ghatkopar unit of ANC.

The team came to know that this woman named Lali was smuggling heroin in huge quantities, after which raids were conducted in Sion Koliwada and she was caught red-handed with drugs.

An FIR was registered under sections 8(c) and 21(c) of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS).

The accused told the police that he had procured drugs from two smugglers from Naugama village in Rajasthan.
