High Alert After Tunnel Found On Samba International Border

High alert after tunnel found on Samba international border, BSF IG Bura said – plan to attack Amarnath Yatra of terrorists.

DK Bura, Inspector General of Border Security Force, Jammu Frontier, on Thursday confirmed the presence of the tunnel along the International Border.

He said that there was no evidence of the two Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists killed near Jammu on April 22 entering through this tunnel.

He said that after discovering this tunnel, our alert jawans have foiled a major conspiracy by Pakistan-backed terrorists to damage the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Annual Pilgrimage.

A tunnel was discovered on Wednesday evening by BSF personnel within the Indian border, 150 meters from the International Border, on the forward side of Chak Fakira along the International Border.

This tunnel was dug from the Pakistan side.

The Border Security Force had launched an operation to locate the tunnel in this area after the killing of two Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists in Jalalabad Sunjwan near Jammu on April 22.

Their guide and overground worker, who took the slain terrorists to Sunjwan, had claimed during interrogation that they had brought them in a truck from Sapwal near Samba.

Inspector General of Border Security Force Jammu Frontier, DK Bura, while talking to reporters today said that this tunnel is being investigated.

This tunnel has been built only recently. It starts from Pakistani territory across the international border. Its mouth opening at Chak Fakira in our area is about two feet wide.

Our jawans have gone inside the tunnel for some distance. 21 sacks of sand were found inside the tunnel, which was used to strengthen the tunnel exit.

He said that this is the fifth tunnel discovered by our soldiers on the International Border during the last one and a half years.

Whereas from the year 2012 till now, his jawans have exposed 11 tunnels on the international border.

This tunnel exposes the nefarious conspiracies of Pakistan to spoil the situation in our country, especially in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Border Security Force is fully aware of the conspiracies of the enemy. Our jawans and officers are fully capable to deal with any challenge. We have increased vigil along the international border.

This tunnel appears to have been built recently. Whether it has been used or not is still a matter of investigation.

For the time being, we can say that this tunnel may have been built with the intention of creating chaos and damage to the annual pilgrimage of Shri Amarnath, which is going to start next month.

Border Security Force personnel have foiled a big conspiracy. A high alert has been issued in Samba after the tunnel was found.

Continuous search operations are being conducted in the areas adjoining the border. At the same time, security arrangements have been tightened on the Jammu-Pathankot National Highway.
