High Alert in Jammu Amid Kathua Encounter: A high alert has been issued in Jammu amid an ongoing terrorist encounter in Kathua’s Juthana village. Security has been tightened in Jammu and Samba, with vehicle checks and increased patrolling. Read the latest updates.

High alert issued in Jammu amid encounter with terrorists in Kathua, vehicles being checked. When the encounter with terrorists started on Thursday morning in Juthana village of Hiranagar tehsil of Kathua district, security was tightened in Jammu and Samba districts.

Nakkas were also set up at various places from Vijaypur to Jammu on Jammu-Pathankot National Highway. Along with this, vehicles coming to Jammu city, especially from the border areas, were being thoroughly checked. Apart from this, the police remained engaged in strengthening the security system by setting up nakkas at various places.

After sunset, when the operation in Juthana was stopped at night, vehicles continued to be searched at the nakkas in the same manner. At night, the police were vigilant near Purmandal, Satwari, along with Jewel Chowk, bus stand, etc. Policemen were keeping an eye here. During the day, police and security forces personnel were patrolling the entire city and keeping a close watch on suspicious activities. The police have started checking suspicious persons and vehicles by setting up checkpoints in the city.

Along with searching the people travelling in passenger vehicles, their identity cards were also checked. Apart from this, the drivers running on the road were being stopped and allowed to proceed only after a thorough search of the vehicle. For the last three days, security forces in Jammu district have been instructed to be ready to deal with any emergency.

Special Operation Group (SOG) personnel are seen patrolling in the outskirts of Jammu. Deployment of security forces has been increased especially in Satwari police station area, Nikki Tawi, Makwal, areas around Tawi and other sensitive places.

Apart from this, security personnel are keeping a close eye on every activity happening on the border in other areas of Jammu district like RS Pura, Arnia, Kanachak, Akhnoor, Pargal, and the Khour sector.
