Hindu temples and idols vandalized: ISKCON’s Governing Body Commissioner Gaurang Das has expressed deep concern over increasing violence against Hindu minorities in Bangladesh. He urged the government to ensure the safety of all minorities, including Hindus, Buddhists, and Christians.

ISKCON concerned over attack on Hindus in Bangladesh, Gaurang Das said- Security of all minorities should be ensured. Gaurang Das, Governing Body Commissioner of ISKCON organization, on Saturday expressed concern over the violence against Hindu minorities in Bangladesh.

He said, ‘ISKCON is concerned about the latest situation in Bangladesh. We are worried about the safety of all Hindu minorities. We request the Government of Bangladesh and all the officials to ensure the safety of all citizens.

Hindu temples and idols vandalized: All our temples, idols, and devotees should be protected.’

Gaurang Das has appealed to the Government of Bangladesh to ensure the right to follow all religions. He said, ‘We appeal to the Bangladesh government that all minorities, whether Hindu, Buddhist or Christian, should get the right to worship at their religious places.’

One person arrested

Police in Bangladesh have arrested a person on charges of breaking Hindu idols. Police officer Abul Khair said that a 37-year-old accused has been arrested. He will be produced in court soon.

A question was also asked in the Parliament of India on the violence in Bangladesh. In response to a question, Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh said that till 8 December 2024, 2200 cases of violence against minorities have been reported in Bangladesh and 112 cases in Pakistan till October.

Hindu temples and idols vandalized: Student protest turned violent

The student revolt against the decision of the Sheikh Hasina government in Bangladesh took a violent turn. The situation became such that Sheikh Hasina had to leave the country and take refuge in India.

In his place, Mohammad Yunus took charge of the interim government. Since then, minorities have been attacked in Bangladesh. Hindu temples and idols are being destroyed there. There has been no official response from Bangladesh on this so far.
