According to LinkedIn India – Labor Market Update (July 2021), the hiring dip deepened in April 2021, in line with the second wave of COVID-19 cases in India and since then, it has been recovering steadily.

The hiring rate is a measure of membership divided by LinkedIn membership. This analysis is based on the change in hiring rate between the month under review and the same month in 2019.

“Large sectors such as IT, manufacturing, and hardware have experienced a one-year hiring freeze. Hiring has started, we are hopeful that the hiring will continue to grow.”

Furthermore, the report also noted that “hiring continues to improve, largely driven by people switching jobs rather than newcomers to the workforce.”

Our data shows that the recent Most of labor market activity lately has been driven by job-changers rather than newcomers in the workforce.

As the economy reopens and recovers, the focus is on opportunities in new and emerging jobs and in the labor market.

The report said that “the majority of changes in emerging jobs are coming from non-emerging roles, 54 percent and 57 percent of the changes in data and cloud professions were from non-emerging roles.

In April 2020, compared to the same period a year ago, There was a sharp drop in the number of people switching jobs, with the share of members switching jobs down by about 48 percent, indicating that people were dependent on jobs during the pandemic.

This has since been recovering, and as of March 2019, The job transition has reached 61 percent more in March 2021 than in March 2021.

This has stabilized over the past four months, and as of July 2021, the share of India’s members is changing, the report said. Jobs are about 59 percent higher in comparison to the same period in time.”
