IGP Kashmir advises media personnel – Do not telecast live coverage of encounter: Militancy in Kashmir.

IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar has advised media personnel to stay away from the encounter site. Instructing not to have live coverage of the encounter, he said that his presence at the site of the encounter often causes trouble.

The IGP released its statement in this regard on Wednesday, stating that it is often seen that the place where police and other security personnel are engaged in encounters with terrorists.

Many media personnel reach there to do live coverage. In doing so, they interfere with the duty of police and security forces. Sometimes it also becomes a threat.

He said that from now on no media personnel should live coverage of the encounter and law and order situation. He said that henceforth no media personnel should come close to the site of the encounter.

The IGP said that freedom of expression is for everyone, but in order to make the safety and atmosphere of other people peaceful, some restrictions are also imposed on it.

Those rights should not be violated under Article 21. National security should not be endangered.

He once again appealed to the media personnel not to interfere in the duty of police-security forces at the site of the encounter.

At the same time, he also instructed that they should not show any material on the internet media which could prove to be dangerous to law or order and likely to incite violence.

Drugs Smuggling: A large consignment of drugs was found in Anantnag from within seven feet of the ground.

In the Anantnag district of South-Kashmir, a large drug-smuggling gang busted on Wednesday. Police have recovered a large number of banned drugs from a hideout.

In this action, Latif Ahmad Shah and Azad Ahmad, residents of Nambal Mattan, have been arrested on charges of drug smuggling.

The police are investigating the matter by registering a case in this regard. There may be some more arrests in this case.

After this action, the police issued a statement saying that the police team of Bijbehra police station had erected a barrier at the Tulkhan intersection in Anantnag district.

During this, caught Latif Ahmed Shah and Azad Ahmed Shah with 15 codeine bottles. On interrogating them, it was found that he had purchased the consignment of drugs from the house of Ghulam Hasan Dar, a resident of Tulkhan Bijbehara.

Thereafter, a police team headed by SDPO Bijbehara, under the supervision of SSP Anantnag Imtiaz Hussain, conducted a search of Ghulam Hasan Dar’s house.

During this time, 1715 bottles of codeine hidden in a pit about seven feet deep were recovered.

SSP Imtiaz Hussain said that the police are getting support from the local people in building a drug-free society.

In the same way, if people keep cooperating and keep giving information about drug smugglers, then one day a drug-free society can be created.

He also said that the police administration is determined to stop crime and drug addiction. He called upon the youth to get rid of addiction and groom themselves and the future of society.
