India Is Keeping An Eye On The Situation In Afghanistan

India is keeping an eye on the situation in Afghanistan, the leaders of Hindu and Sikh communities are in direct contact: EAM S Jaishankar.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said on Tuesday that India is closely monitoring the situation in Afghanistan after Kabul came under Taliban control.

He said that the Government of India is in direct contact with its citizens living in Kabul and the leaders of Sikh and Hindu communities.

In a series of tweets, External Affairs Minister Jaishankar said the situation in Kabul is being continuously monitored.

The concern of those wishing to return to India is understood. The main challenge is the operation of the airport. Discussions have been held with the partners in this regard.

He said that we are in constant touch with the leaders of the Sikh and Hindu community in Kabul. It remains our priority to take care of them and their safe evacuation.

India is keeping an eye on the situation in Afghanistan: The Indian Ministry of External Affairs issued a helpline.

Amidst the deteriorating situation in Afghanistan, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs has also issued a helpline number.

The helpline number +919717785379 was issued by Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi on Monday. Along with this, the email id MEAHelpdeskIndia@gmail.com was also issued.

Through both of these, the people of India can get the news and give information about their close friends in Afghanistan.

On Monday, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) on the situation in Afghanistan organized a meeting on the situation in Afghanistan.

UNSC President TS Tirumurti said members of the Security Council have called for an immediate end to violence in Afghanistan, restoration of security, civil and constitutional order.

Significantly, there has been chaos in Afghanistan since the Taliban took over.
