India Said, No External Issues In Military Talks With China

India said, no external issues in military talks with China, Amid talks with the US.

India made it clear on Thursday that its negotiations with China over the border dispute have no relation to any external issue.

During the recent two plus two talks with the US, the two countries discussed the incursion of Chinese troops into eastern Ladakh. India has made this comment from the same perspective.

Giving details about the next round of Corps Commander level talks with China, a Foreign Ministry spokesman said that both sides agreed to resolve the negotiations through military and diplomatic channels as soon as possible to reduce tension on the border.

Two plus two talks are unlikely to affect India-China talks: Spokesperson

He said that I want to clarify that the talks with China have no relation to any external issue.

The spokesperson responded to a question that asked whether China has delayed military negotiations after the Basic Exchange and Cooperation for Geo-Spatial Cooperation (BICA) agreement in two plus two talks with the US.

It is noteworthy that under the BICA agreement, the US has agreed to give high-level military technology to India, which till now it has given only to a few countries.

In the context of two plus two talks, the foreign minister said that in our talks there was a special focus on the Indo-Pacific region.

A spokesman for the Ministry of External Affairs on Thursday reiterated that we want peace, stability, and prosperity in all countries of the Indo-Pacific region.

This is possible only when all countries follow a rules-based international system, allow unhindered movement of international waters, respect the territorial integrity of other countries, and promote free connectivity.

It is also worth mentioning here that during the two plus two talks, the issue of China’s Dadagiri in East Ladakh and Indo-Pacific region was raised and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo supported his country’s efforts to protect India had said

China responded to this by asking Pompeo not to create disharmony with China’s neighboring countries.

Referring to the previous Corps Commander-level talks with China on 12 October, a Foreign Ministry spokesman said that it facilitated the two sides to understand each other’s position on the subject.

Both sides agreed to implement the agreement between their leaders that they will not allow any disagreement to be turned into a big controversy. At the same time, peace on the border will work together to maintain harmony.

Under this, we are maintaining peace along the Line of Actual Control by maintaining dialogue among ourselves.

It is worth mentioning that till now there have been seven rounds of high-level negotiations between the two countries to resolve the border dispute, but no solution has been reached in the matter.
