India Tested Prithvi-2 Amid Tension From China

India tested Prithvi-2 amid tension from China, a test of anti-tank missile strength a day earlier. India also successfully test-fired indigenously built nuclear-powered Prithvi-II missile.

This state-of-the-art missile was launched in the dark of night from the Integrated Test Center at Chandipur in Odisha, which met all standards.

The Prithvi-2 missile, which has a range of 350 km from the surface to surface, is capable of carrying 500 to 1000 kg of warheads. The last time Prithvi-2 was successfully tested from Chandipur on November 20, 2019.

Please tell that the Prithvi-2 missile was inducted into the army in 2003. The nine-meter-long missile has been developed by DRDO (Defense Research and Development Organization).

Indeed, India is constantly strengthening its military capability amidst ongoing tension along the border with China and Pakistan. In this series, the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) on Tuesday successfully test-fired indigenous laser-guided anti-tank guided missile (ATGM).

ATGM is said to have completely demolished the target three kilometers away during the test.

The missile was fired from the MBT Arjun tank from the KK range of Armored Corps Center & School in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra, and completely destroyed the target three kilometers away.

However, this missile can destroy enemy tanks up to four kilometers away. With the introduction of ATGM, the Indian Army will greatly increase its firepower.

It will get an edge especially on the border with Pakistan and China. The ATGM has a Heat (High-Speed Expandable Aerial Target) warhead through which Explosive Reactive Armor (ERA) protected tanks can be flown.

Meanwhile, the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) successfully test-fired the Laser Guided Anti Tank Guided Missile. It was fired from the MBT Arjun tank in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra. During this test, the anti-tank missile successfully destroyed the target at a distance of three kilometers.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated DRDO on its success. Rajnath Singh tweeted, “Laser-guided anti-tank guided missile has been successfully tested from MBT Arjun at KK range (ACC & S) in Ahmednagar.” India is proud of DRDO which is working towards reducing import dependency in near future.
