Then in December 2012, three proposals on Syria were accepted. There has been no significant progress in terms of implementation and terrorism in any of these three.

Thirumurthy said that after eight years we are making a new beginning in the Security Council, still, we are seeing that the Syrian problem does not seem to be going away.

The political process has not even begun. The permanent representative of India expressed concern that Syria’s terrorism is spreading to other places, even to Africa, as the problem is not resolved. Syrian mercenaries are building their hideouts elsewhere.
