Indian Coast Guard Day, the ICG is celebrating its 45th Raising Day today. The Indian Coast Guard is an armed force of India that protects maritime borders and enforces maritime law.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi (Narendra Modi) greeted the Indian Coast Guard. PM Modi wrote in his tweet- My best wishes to all their personnel and their families on the foundation day of the ICG.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh also congratulated the Indian Coast Guard (ICG). Rajnath tweeted and wrote- Congratulations to the Indian Coast Guard personnel and their families on their 45th Foundation Day.

Rajnath Singh said that the Indian Coast Guard has distinguished itself as a vigilant and courageous force. It has played an important role in securing the Indian coast. I salute his service to the nation.

Indian Coast Guard is headed by a Director-General, Vice-Admiral rank of the Indian Navy. The Director-General is assisted by other officers who are responsible for various duties and responsibilities.

The Indian Coast Guard was formally established on 18 August 1978 by the Indian Coast Guard Act, 1978 as an independent armed force of the Parliament of India.

What is the importance of the Indian Coast Guard.

The Indian Coast Guard works closely with the Indian Navy, Fisheries Department, Revenue Department (Customs), and the Central and State Police Forces.

The Indian Coast Guard guards India’s 7,51,660 km of coastline across various states and some of the busiest trade routes. Unlike their counterparts in the three military services, the Indian Coast Guard can serve up to the age of 60.
