Indian Navy caught a consignment of 940 kg of drugs in the Arabian Sea, Marco Commando took action under ‘Crimson Barracuda’.

Indian Navy has seized a consignment of 940 kg of drugs in the Western Arabian Sea.

This action has been taken with the help of Canada-led Combined Task Force (CTF)- 150.CMF, the largest international naval alliance in the world, has five task forces, including CTF 150.

This is the first time that the Indian Navy, as a member of the Combined Maritime Force (CMF), has recovered drugs, the Navy said on Tuesday.

Indian Navy Seizes 940kg Drugs In Arabian Sea: These include 453 kg of methamphetamine, 416 kg of hashish, and 71 kg of heroin.

The CMF is a naval partnership of 42 nations that aims to maintain the international rules-based order by promoting security and stability at sea. November of last year saw the Indian Navy join the CMF.

A Navy spokesperson said that the Indian Navy’s Marco Commandos deployed on board the Indian Naval Ship INS Talwar, deployed in the Western Arabian Sea for maritime security operations.

On April 13, during maritime patrolling under Operation ‘Crimson Barracuda’, attacked ‘Dhow’ (Special 940 kg drugs seized from the boat. The drugs were disposed of as per standard operating procedure.

Captain Kalin Matthews, Royal Canadian Navy, Commander, CTF 150, said, “I commend the crew of INS Talwar for their efforts during this operation and their hard work that resulted in the successful seizure of 940 kg of drugs.

Crimson Barracuda The operation concluded on April 15. Its objective was to stop maritime smuggling by terrorist and criminal organizations in the Western Indian Ocean region.
