IndiGo Resumed Over 650 Weekly Flights From Wednesday

IndiGo resumed over 650 weekly flights; Lucknow, Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Gorakhpur operations of Uttar Pradesh started.

Private airline IndiGo said on Wednesday that it has resumed more than 650 flights a week from there to cities in Uttar Pradesh.

The company said that flights from four cities of Uttar Pradesh – Lucknow, Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Gorakhpur – have started operations.

The airline company saw a huge demand for air travel from Lucknow, which is directly connected to 13 destinations in the country, IndiGo said. This includes Indore and Raipur where direct flights have started recently.

The number of domestic aircraft passengers decreased in October

The number of domestic aircraft passengers fell by 57.21 percent to 52.71 lakh in October from a year earlier.

Airlines are operating at much less than their capacity amid the Coronavirus epidemic, causing a significant drop in the number of aircraft passengers.

The number of domestic aircraft passengers stood at 1.23 crore in October 2019. However, there has been some improvement in October due to increased demand after removing the lockdown in booking at Passenger Load Factor (PLF).

DGCA has said that PLF has also improved due to the festive season.
