Ireland’s Historic Win Over World Champion England

Ireland’s historic win, outperformed world champion England by scoring 329 runs. Ireland cricket team registered a historic win in the last match of the three-match series played against World Champion England on Tuesday.

On the centuries of captain Balbarney and Paul Starling, England beat England by 329 runs for 7 wickets. Batting first, England scored 328 on the basis of captain Eoin Morgan’s century.

In the last match of the three-match series, Ireland batted unbelievably and achieved the mammoth target of 328 by England in 49.5 overs, losing 3 wickets. With this, Ireland’s team in England registered their first ODI win and after losing 1-2, finished the series with a win.

The target of 329 runs was considered to be difficult for Ireland but experienced batsman Paul Starling overturned the match by scoring 142 runs. The batsman played a memorable inning with 128 balls with 9 fours and 6 sixes. Ireland’s captain Balbarney’s century in the win against England was also important.

Facing 112 balls, he scored 113 runs scoring 12 fours. Harry Tector and Kevin O’Brien gave the team a historic win by playing unbeaten innings of 29 and 21 runs in the last.

Starling and Balbarney’s match-winning partnership

Starling and Balbarney had a 214-run partnership for the second wicket which overturned the entire match. The team’s first setback was a score of 50 when Grath Delany was dismissed for just 12 runs.

After that, both these batsmen scored fast and kept the England bowlers across the boundary by staying till the 42nd over. Starling was run out for 142 runs at 264 but by then Ireland’s team was close to victory.

Shameful defeat of England

Captain Morgan’s 84-ball Atishi scored 106 and David Willey’s 51-run innings helped the team score 328 runs. The English bowlers were unable to defend it even after setting a big target.

Willy was the most expensive bowler and managed to get 1 wicket for 70 runs in 10 overs. Apart from this, Moin Ali got 51 runs in 7 overs, while Tom Curran took 67 runs in 10 overs.
