ISIS Sympathizer Mohsin Ahmed Was Sent To Judicial Custody

ISIS sympathizer Mohsin Ahmed was sent to judicial custody, he used to raise money for a terrorist organization.

NIA court on Tuesday sent Mohsin Ahmed, an alleged active member of the banned terrorist organization ISIS, to judicial custody.

ISIS sympathizer Mohsin was produced in the court today after the remand was over. He was arrested from Batla House on August 6, 2022, ahead of Independence Day.

NIA Court Judge Dharmesh Sharma on Tuesday sent Mohsin Ahmed to judicial custody for a month as the NIA did not seek further remand for him.

The NIA on Saturday (August 6) arrested Mohsin from his Delhi residence on charges of collecting funds for ISIS from India as well as abroad and sending it to Syria and other places in the form of cryptocurrency.

The NIA arrested Mohsin during a search operation conducted at his present residence, Japanese Gali, Jogabai Extension, Batla House, New Delhi.

“He was arrested in a case related to online and on-the-ground activities of ISIS,” the probe agency said. The NIA registered the case on June 25 this year taking suo motu cognizance.

The NIA said, “Mohsin Ahmed is a staunch and active member of ISIS. He has been arrested for his involvement in collecting money from ISIS sympathizers in India as well as abroad.

This counter-terrorism agency further stated that the arrested accused Ahmed used to remit the money collected in the form of cryptocurrency to Syria and other places to further the activities of ISIS.

Further investigation of the matter is on.
