Britain’s Home Minister Preeti Patel has called the move a precautionary measure in the wake of the terrorist attacks in France last week and this week in Austria.

He said that the British public should be cautious but not worried. Patel confirmed that the police system in the country will now be more strict.

Preeti Patel said, ‘As I said earlier, we are facing a real and serious threat of terrorism in Britain. I want to tell people to be alert and report any suspicious activity to the police.

The exact cause of the attack in Austria has not been known. The attack on Austria was preceded by a lockdown from midnight Monday, in view of the second round of infection.

There has been firing in six areas of the capital. A video running on the internet media can be seen about how the attackers are roaming the streets with weapons in their hands and firing at people in public.

United Nations condemned as Mumbai attack

However, this video has not been confirmed at the government level. An eyewitness reported that he saw people sitting outside the bar on the street under his window shot by the attacker.

The attacker fired about 100 rounds there. UN Secretary-General Antonia Guterres condemned the attack, saying that she was monitoring the developments. This attack is considered as the 2008 Mumbai attack.

ISIS takes responsibility: Anti-Jewish attack

Chancellor Sebastian Kurz said that there was every possibility that it was an anti-Semitic attack. The attack took place near a synagogue, which cannot rule out this possibility.

However, it was closed at the time of the attack. Kurz has vowed to the public that she will never bow down to terrorism and will counter these attacks in every possible way.

On the other hand, the head of the Jewish community in Vienna, Oskar Duties, said that it is not clear whether the main synagogue was targeted.

Army called

Interior Minister Karl Nehmer said the military has been ordered to protect vital areas of the city. Apart from this, modern armed policemen are looking for the attackers.

The entire city is sealed. He has asked the people of Vienna to stay in their homes. Also, parents are currently advised not to send children to school.

Indian Embassy assured security

Following the terrorist attack in Vienna, the Indian embassy in Austria issued a statement saying that they are in constant contact with the authorities to protect the Indian community. In a tweet, the embassy advised all citizens to exercise caution.

The attacker killed before going to jail

According to police officials, the 20-year-old attacker, Kujati Fejulai, who was shot dead, had dual citizenship in Australia and northern Macedonia.

Fejulai was sentenced to 22 months in April 2019. However, he was released in December under a minor law.

Germany said Islamic terrorism is our common enemy

A spokesman for Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel, Stefan Seibert, has strongly condemned the attacks. They have called Islamic terrorism a common enemy.

They have said that we have to fight together against these killers and those who support them.

PM Modi strongly condemned

Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly condemned the incident in Vienna.

PM Modi tweeted, “Deeply shocked and saddened by the brutal terrorist attacks in Vienna. India stands with Australia in this tragic time. My condolences are with the victims and their families.

America and France also united

US President Trump has said that our condolences are with the people of Vienna. These attacks against innocent people should be stopped. They are ready to provide all possible help to Austria in fighting terrorism.

At the same time, French President Emmanuel Macron said, ‘I condemn the terrorist attack on his friend country after France. This is our Europe and we will not give up at any cost. ‘
