Italian Open 2020: Novak Djokovic again lost his cool, reached the semi-finals. Serbian veteran tennis player Novak Djokovic lost his temper at the US Open less than two weeks ago during a win against qualifier Dominic Kopfar of Germany in the quarter-final of the Italian Open on Saturday.

Djokovic won 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 over Kopfar, but during the second set, he hit his racquet on the ground, which broke his racket’s frame and he had to get a new racket. He also received a warning from the chair umpire.

Novak Djokovic was also seen staring at the chair umpire during the match when the umpire decided against him and also ordered to play again for a point. At the same time, Spain player Rafael Nadal defeated Dusan Lojovic 6–1 6–3 to advance to the quarter-finals.

Hall for the fifth time in the last four:

Romania’s top seed Simona Halep entered the semifinals of the tournament for the fifth time after Yuliya Putinseva retired due to a back injury. Wimbledon champion Hallep had gone 6–2, 2–0 in 47 minutes in the quarter-final when Putinseva decided to leave the match due to lower back pain.

Former number one player Victoria Azarenka entered the final eight easily. His opponent, Darya Kasatkina of Russia, retired in the first set at a score of 6-6.

Bopanna-Shapovalov’s pair out:

The Indian pair of Rohan Bopanna and Denis Shapovalov of Canada was eliminated in the Italian Open Tennis men’s doubles quarterfinal losing to France’s Jeremy Chardy and Fabrice Ma ton. Both had to face defeat by 6-4, 5-7, 7-10.

Bopanna and Shapovalov defeated top seed Juan Sebastian Kabol and Robert Farah of Colombia in the second round. Bopanna and Shapovalov also lost in the quarterfinals of the US Open.
