Jalgaon Train Disaster: Learn how a false fire alarm by a tea seller caused panic and resulted in the tragic deaths of 13 passengers in the Jalgaon train accident. 13 people lost their lives because of a tea seller. Deputy CM’s big disclosure told how the accident happened.
On Wednesday night, a significant train disaster occurred in Jalgaon, Maharashtra. A rumor spread that Pushpak Express going from Lucknow to Mumbai was on fire. This scared the passengers traveling on the train so much that they started jumping from the moving train.
Meanwhile, the Karnataka Express train was coming from the adjacent track. Many people who jumped from the train got hit by the Karnataka Express train. 13 people died in this incident. According to the information, 30 to 40 people had jumped from the train. This accident happened near Pardhade village of Pachora tehsil of Jalgaon.

Senior railway official informed that ‘a spark arose due to ‘hot axle’ or ‘brake-binding’ (jamming) inside a coach of Pushpak Express, due to which some passengers panicked. They pulled the chain and some of them jumped off the track. At the same time, another train was passing from the adjacent track.’
Ajit Pawar said that this rumour was spread by two persons Udhal Kumar and Vijay Kumar. Both of them were convinced by the tea seller. First of all, the tea seller spread the rumor that the train had caught fire. After this, there was an atmosphere of panic inside the train. That tea seller himself pulled the chain. When the train started slowing down, the passengers started jumping from the train to save their lives.
Speaking to reporters, Ajit Pawar said, “After the railway accident, the administration and other forces became active and started relief and rescue operations. Udhal Kumar and Vijay Kumar of Shravasti were on board the train. They were traveling on the train. They were sitting on the general bogie and upper berth. A tea seller from the pantry shouted about the fire in the bogie, both of them heard this and panicked.”

Ajit Pawar added, “As the train was traveling at a good pace, someone pulled the chain, which caused the train to halt. Some people had jumped off of the running train to protect themselves from the fire. Many passengers got off the train and proceeded ahead while crossing the railway track. Karnataka Express came at a very high speed from the opposite track and hit the passengers crossing the railway track.”
The Deputy CM further said that out of the 13 people killed, a total of 10 have been identified while three have not been identified yet. The total number of injured is 10, of which 8 are men while 2 are women and they are undergoing treatment at the Civil Hospital in Jalgaon.
The injured persons have been admitted to the Civil Hospital in Jalgaon and are undergoing treatment. The Railway Ministry has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 1.5 lakh each for the families of the deceased in the Jalgaon train accident.
An ex-gratia of Rs 1.5 lakh apiece has been announced for the relatives of the deceased in the Jalgaon train disaster, Rs 50,000 for the critically injured, and Rs 5,000 for the minor injured, according to the Railway Minister’s Office.
