Tral is a town in south Kashmir, a hotbed of militancy since 1990 and it has been observed by the intelligence agencies in time and over again that there is local support for militants.
The charm about joining militant ranks is high among young generations, the local mainstream politician and Hurriyat has added fuel in this area of Kashmir.
This town of district Pulwama Kashmir is the most venerable, as most of the militant commanders hail from this area. There is a big challenge for security agencies in this area as they have to fight militants and keep alineation in check.
Since the removal of controversial article 370, there has been an uneasy calm in Kashmir, but a drastic change has been noticed in stone-pelting incidents.
