Jammu and Kashmir: Yet another big success for security agencies

Police in Awantipora today captured four Over Ground Supporters (OGWs) of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) outfit.

A police representative distinguished them as Shabir Ahmad Parray, Sheeraz Ahmad Dar, Shafat Ahmad Mir, and Ishfaq Ahmad Shah, occupants of the Bathen region of Khrew.

He said that they were associated with giving safe house, coordinations, and another sort of help to the dynamic aggressors of JeM working in the territories of Khrew and backwoods regions of Tral.

He said that implicating material including explosives and ammo was recouped on their divulgence in the Bathen territory of the area.
A case (FIR No. 18/2020) under important areas of law has been enrolled at Police headquarters Khrew.
The representative said that further examination of the situation is in progress.

Tral is a town in south Kashmir, a hotbed of militancy since 1990 and it has been observed by the intelligence agencies in time and over again that there is local support for militants.

The charm about joining militant ranks is high among young generations, the local mainstream politician and Hurriyat has added fuel in this area of Kashmir.

This town of district Pulwama Kashmir is the most venerable, as most of the militant commanders hail from this area. There is a big challenge for security agencies in this area as they have to fight militants and keep alineation in check.
Since the removal of controversial article 370, there has been an uneasy calm in Kashmir, but a drastic change has been noticed in stone-pelting incidents.
