Jammu Kashmir UT: Government’s eye on NGOs and Madrasas in Jammu and Kashmir; List of 600 organizations ready.
The days of various non-governmental organizations (NGOs), societies, and madrasas that have sprouted like the mushrooms in UT of Jammu and Kashmir are now gone.
The state government has issued a notice to about 600 organizations to give details of their funding and renew registration.
In addition to canceling the registration of the organization concerned, legal action will also be taken. Many madrasas have registered themselves as NGOs.
The name of many NGOs and Madrasas in the state has also been associated with terrorist and separatist organizations.
In October 2020, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) also searched some NGO offices in Kashmir.
The state government has asked 446 societies, unions, and organizations of the Kashmir division to hold their elections by March 31, renew registration and submit audit documents.
These include 49 organizations in Anantnag, six in Bandipora, 137 in Baramulla, 13 in Budgam, three in Ganderbal, 24 in Kulgam, 11 in Kupwara, 21 in Pulwama, 41 in Shopian, 141 in Srinagar.
Elections were held in only six of these organizations. While others have never held elections. At the same time, notice has also been issued to 136 organizations in the Jammu division.
Missing file of two organizations: According to the list released by the Jammu and Kashmir General Administrative Department.
The file of Madrasa Islamia Arabiya located in Mendhar of district Poonch, adjoining two organizations Muslim Islami Committee Dhar Bilawar (Kathua) and LoC is also not available.
Many of them had just checked their income and accounts at the time of registration and many had two or three years ago. Most have not assigned ledger accounts.
The organization of Tibetan Muslims is also on the list: The name of former Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Bakshi Ghulam Muhammad is also included in the list prepared by the General Administrative Department.
The Kashmir Olympic Association headed by him was registered in Srinagar in 1950. Also on the list is The Tibetan Muslim Refugee Welfare Association, Idgah Srinagar, an NGO of Muslim refugees from Tibet in Kashmir.
Submits all documents: Al-Faizan Charitable Trust Chairman Zeeshan Javed Rana said that I have not received any notice, but our name is on the list. We get our documents checked every year and hand over the documents to the concerned administration.
Most of the organizations have come only at the time of registration:
According to Manoj Dwivedi, Commissioner Secretary, General Administrative Department, there are about one thousand small and big trade unions.
NGOs, societies, religious organizations, and farmers and handicrafts organizations in Jammu and Kashmir, which have different departments.
Has registered itself with The maximum number of registrations have been done in the name of organizations of farmers, artisans, and fruit growers. After that, there are organizations called Islamic service.
Many organizations only appeared at the time of registration or did not submit the details of checking their accounts on time.
The process of selection of office-bearers in many has not been completed to date. Many institutions are seen only on paper.
As such, a list of about 600 unions, societies, and associations has been prepared and they have to complete all the formalities by 31 March 2021, otherwise, legal action will be taken.
It is important to check all these: Dr. Ajay Chirangu, President of Panun Kashmir Organization said that we do not talk about any particular organization, but many so-called NGOs and Madrasas have played a role in the ongoing terrorist violence in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Madrasas of the banned Jamaat-e-Islami and some Bahavi Tanjim are active under different names. There are also some NGOs that have raised a lot of donations. Therefore the investigation is very important.
