K-Missile Family, Codenamed ‘K’ In The Honor Of APJ Kalam

K-missile family codenamed ‘K’ in the honor of APJ Kalam is enough to make the enemy tremble, know its specialty. The testing of the nuclear-powered Shaurya missile has made the ‘K-missile family’ more powerful.

The objective of this family is to gain the capability to launch nuclear-powered weapons from land, water, and air. India has recently conducted a successful trial of its nuclear-powered Shaurya missile.

The K-missile family is codenamed ‘K’ in honor of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, known as the former President of the country and Missile Man. They have been launched from the Arihant category of nuclear submarines.

Missile family

Submarine-launched ballistic missiles ie SLBMs are included in this. They have been developed by the Defense Research and Development Organization i.e. DRDO using indigenous technology.

The family and its missiles are named after the country’s Missile Man and former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.

Such are missiles

These missiles launched from submarines are lighter, smaller, and concealable than ground-launched missiles. These can be launched from Arihant-class nuclear-powered platforms. DRDO is also developing some of these ground and air-launched versions.

Surefire target

The family joined in the last day and the Shaurya missile, which can hit 800 km from ground to ground, is unmistakable in penetrating targets. It is the landmark version of SLBM K-15 Sagarika. It is also capable of dodging radar.

Prior to this, India has launched a K-4 missile several times with a firepower of 3,500 km. It is reported that K-5 and K-6 missiles with a range of 5,000-6,000 km are in the final stages of development.

SLBM Strategic Importance

The importance of SLBM increases between strained relations with China and Pakistan. India’s strategy is that it will not attack anyone first.

Taking advantage of its illegitimate, if an enemy attacks our country, then in that case there will be no harm to our submarines and nuclear weapons.

These nuclear-powered submarines will also give a befitting reply to the enemy. Although the K-15 missile is already deployed in Arihant, there are plans to deploy the K-4 as well.

Something special

India has successfully tested K-4 missiles many times before, with a range of up to 3500 km. According to media information, the range of missiles crafted by codename K-5 and K-6 will be up to 5-6 thousand kilometers.

The initial development program for the K-15 and K-4 missiles began in the 2010s. Let me tell you that the policy of India’s missile program has not been to attack before the beginning.

The missiles being developed and designed by India are under this policy. But if anyone will dare to look at the borders of India, then India will not remain silent.

Every time India has been saying to the international forum that it does not want to get into any kind of dispute and talks about resolving the disputes in a peaceful manner.

These missiles are important in the development of three-stage nuclear power to strengthen the security of the country. India has twice the strength in terms of nuclear power with underwater nuclear-capable attack missiles.

The importance of these missiles is also that they not only serve in the first attack but can also be used in the counter-attack.
