ISRO Conspiracy Case: Former DGP gets anticipatory bail from the court in ISRO conspiracy case.

A Thiruvananthapuram court has granted anticipatory bail to former Kerala Director General of Police (DGP) CB Mathews in a case registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

The case is related to the illegal arrest of ISRO scientist Nambi Narayan and two Maldivian nationals in the 1994 espionage case.

Mathews’ counsel said the relief was granted by Principal District and Sessions Judge P. Krishnakumar.

Advocate Prasad Gandhi, appearing for two Maldivians, Mariam Rashida, and Fauzia Hassan, also confirmed the court’s order. The detailed order of the court is yet to be received.

Narayan and both Maldivian women had opposed the relief to Mathews.

In the same case, the Kerala High Court had also granted anticipatory bail to three former police officers and a retired Intelligence Department (IB) officer.

The CBI had registered a case against Mathews and 17 others, including another IB officer, on charges of criminal conspiracy, kidnapping, and tampering with evidence.
