Lt Gen DP Pandey, the outgoing commander of the 15th Corps of the Army, said on Thursday that it is wrong to use a word like Kashmir problem.

Talking to reporters at Chinar Corps headquarters here today, the Corps Commander said that I took charge of Chinar Corps with the determination to break the vicious cycle of violence in Kashmir.

I have been successful in this to a great extent. I have carried forward the campaign started by my predecessor commanders to normalize the situation here and break the back of terrorism.

Lt Gen DP Pandey’s assignment as Chinar Corps Commander is completed on May 7.

He is taking over his next assignment as the Commandant of the Army’s War College at Mahu, near Indore in Madhya Pradesh.

The 15th Corps of the Army is also called Chinar Corps. Lt Gen DS Ojla will now command Chinar Corps in place of Lt Gen DP Pandey.

Let us tell you that the GOC of Chinar Corps, Lt Gen DP Pandey had said recently that there was only one infiltration attempt this year which was foiled. Terrorists are not able to break our anti-infiltration grid.

Claiming that the situation in Kashmir has improved, he said that seeing the security forces dominating themselves, terrorists are now seen hiding here and there.

In order to maintain their terror, they are trying to bring forward the youth here by tricking them.

But the good thing is that the youth of Kashmir have also understood the intention of the masters of terrorist organizations sitting in Pakistan.

This is the reason why the number of local terrorists is decreasing here.

He said that as long as there is even a single terrorist with the intention of creating unrest in Kashmir, the army’s operation against them will continue like this.
