Kashmiri Pandits still facing banishment after 31 years: Kashmiri Pandits. The KP Sabha has expressed its strong anger against the central government and the Jammu and Kashmir administration for not returning to Kashmir Valley even after 31 years of exile.
In the meeting held here on Monday, the members of the assembly said that neither the central government nor the Jammu and Kashmir administration is serious about resolving the issues of Kashmiri Pandits.
It was said in the meeting that the 1990s remember the painful period when Kashmiri Pandits were forced to flee leaving their homes, properties in the valley.
After that we got assurances to settle in the valley, but the KP could not return till today. During the meeting chaired by the President of KP Sabha KK Khosa, the difficulties of displaced Pandits were discussed openly.
t was said that there was no seriousness towards solving the problems of Kashmiri Pandits living in the displaced camps. In 1990, Pak-backed militants created such an atmosphere in the valley that Kashmiri Pandits were forced to leave the valley due to their safety.
Khosa said that Article 370 and 35A have also been removed now. Jammu Kashmir has become a union territory. In these circumstances also, if the Pandits do not return to Valley then when will it happen. Repeated memorandums have been given to the government in this regard.
He said that the Kashmiri Pandit wants to visit his motherland. Wants to connect with its culture. The central government should make way for this.
Increase the relief amount.
The Kashmiri Pandit Sabha demanded to increase the relief amount given to the Kashmiri Pandits and to provide jobs to the Kashmiri Pandit youth under the Prime Minister’s Employment Package.
Ashwani Kaul, SL Bhagati, BL Tikku, Subhash Dhar, Jitendra Parimu, Dr. Usha Tikku, Vinod Bhatt, Asha Kichlu etc. were present in the meeting.
