Kerala government ready to reopen Sabarimala road, relaxation in many restrictions.
In view of the reduction in corona cases, the Kerala government has decided to give relief in the restrictions applicable for Sabarimala pilgrims.
The decision was taken during the meeting between Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Devaswom Minister K Radhakrishnan.
According to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), it has been decided to open the traditional route of Sabarimala for pilgrims from Pampa to Nilimala, Apache medu, and Marakoottam is taken.
It has also been said to provide primary health care facilities on this route. Apart from this, arrangements will also be made for the entire night stay of the devotees in Sannidhanam.
500 rooms will be prepared for this. Bathing in the Pampa river and performing all the rituals of Balitparanam which is performed for the departed souls of the ancestors will also be allowed.

However, this decision has been left to the district administration, who will take a decision keeping in view the water level of the river.
Earlier, the Sabarimala temple in Kerala was opened on November 15 with the Corona guidelines. Starting from November 15, this pilgrimage session will continue till January 19 next year.
Every year lakhs of devotees come here. This time due to Kovid-19, with strict rules, only 1,000 devotees have been allowed to enter the temple per day.
According to the state administration, from December 9 till the end of the Mandala-Makaravilakku (Makar Sankranti) festival, 45,000 people will be able to visit the hill shrine of Sabarimala every day.
The Lord Ayyappa temple at Sabarimala has opened for Mandala-Makaravilakku, which will last for two months. Mandala Puja will be held in the temple till December 26.
