Khanmoh Encounter: A terrorist pile up in Srinagar encounter, operation of security forces continues.

A militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter between security forces and militants in Khanmoh area adjoining Srinagar since morning.

There is still a terrorist hiding in the house. Firing continues on both sides. These terrorists are hiding in Shah Mohalla of Khanmoh area.

Both terrorists are said to be from the Al-Badr terrorist organization. It is also reported that they include al-Badr’s commander. At present, the identity of the slain terrorist has not been identified.

According to information received from the police, security personnel were informed about the sighting of the terrorists in Khanmoh area in the early hours of today.

As soon as the information was received, a joint team of SOG, 50 RR of Army and CRPF reached the area. Started searching for terrorists. These were hidden in Shah Mohalla in Khanmoh area.

While the security personnel were searching from house to house, these terrorists hiding in the house saw the security forces coming close to them and started firing on them.

The security forces asked the militants to surrender before retaliating but they continued firing.

Seeing the security forces dominate, the security forces tried to escape from there. For a long time, when there was no firing from the terrorists, the security forces once again started searching for them.

After leaving the Shah Mohalla from the house, the terrorists had reached the adjoining Lone Mohalla. This time the security forces first laid siege to the house where the terrorists were hiding and once again asked them to surrender.

When the terrorists did not give them any answer for a long time, the security forces also started a counter-fire. One terrorist was killed in this encounter.

There is still a possibility of one to two terrorists being present in the area. Police sources say that these terrorists are from the al-Badr terrorist organization and if their information is correct, they include a commander.

At present, no information has been given in this regard officially. Firing continues on both sides. The administration has stopped internet service in the area as a precaution.
