LAC Dispute With China Will Be Settled Soon: Jaishankar

LAC dispute with China will be settled soon: Jaishankar told- Commander level meeting will be held again in both the countries.

During a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi here on Thursday, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar called for early resolution of all old issues along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh.

The two met on the sidelines of the ongoing two-day G20 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (FMM) in Bali.

Commander-level meeting expected soon.

Jaishankar said that the meeting also discussed the full adherence to bilateral agreements and protocols and the old meetings with the Chinese counterpart.

“In this regard, the two ministers confirmed that military and diplomatic officials from both sides should maintain regular contact and the next round of senior commanders’ meetings is expected at the earliest,” a statement from the Ministry of External Affairs said.

Improvement in relations between India and China.

Jaishankar further said that the relations between India and China are getting better in view of mutual respect, mutual sensitivity, and mutual interests. He also discussed the speedy implementation of the decisions taken in the old meetings.

Issue of return of Indian students from China raised.

Let us inform you that in the last meeting between the two leaders, the issue of the return of Indian students from China was also raised.

According to the ministry, in this meeting, Jaishankar emphasized expediting the process and early return of the students.

The two leaders have assured support for China’s BRICS presidency this year and India’s upcoming G20 and SCO presidencies.

Bilateral relations were also discussed.

Significantly, after holding the first meeting today, Jaishankar tweeted that the talks “focused on specific issues in our bilateral relations relating to the border situation. Other matters including students and flights were also discussed in this meeting.
