Ladakh Accident: Truck carrying army personnel falls into the Shyok river, 7 killed, 19 injured.

In a major accident in Ladakh’s Turtuk sector, seven army personnel were sacrificed, while 19 were injured. All were taken to the military hospital.

The condition of many of these soldiers is critical. The incident took place when a truck full of soldiers fell into the Shyok river.

A contingent of jawans was going from the transit camp in Partapur to the forward area of ​​the Hanif sector in a truck.

Ladakh Accident: According to the information received, a team of 26 soldiers was going ahead of the transit camp at Partapur in a truck at around 9 am on Friday.

When the truck going towards the Hanif sector reached about 25 km from Thois, suddenly the truck got unbalanced from the driver and fell into the Shyok river about 50-60 kms down the road.

After the accident, there was an outcry, and the people of the surrounding and the police and army personnel carried out the rescue operation together. All the soldiers who fell in the river were rescued.

Seven of these soldiers had died on the spot. The condition of many of the remaining 19 injured is critical. All were first rushed to the 403 Field Hospital in Partapur.

There are also reports of some of them being shifted for better treatment after first aid. The names and addresses of the deceased jawans and the injured are not yet available.

However, the help of an Air Force helicopter is also being taken in the relief and rescue work. The detailed information about the accident is still awaited.
