Lawyer suspended for inappropriate behavior during a virtual hearing in Tamil Nadu.

Advocate RD Santhana Krishnan was on Tuesday suspended for allegedly ‘inappropriate behavior’ with a woman during the virtual hearing of a case before a single bench in the Madras High Court.

Portfolio judges PN Prakash and R. Hemalatha initiated suo motu contempt proceedings against Santhana Krishnan.

He directed the CB-CID branch of the police to register a case and investigate the matter thoroughly and file a report on December 23.

The judges also directed the Tamil Nadu Bar Council to take appropriate disciplinary action against the lawyer.

Accordingly, the council has banned Santhana Krishnan from practicing in all courts of the country till the disciplinary proceedings are completed.

According to the video, on Monday when the single judge was hearing through video conferencing, advocate Santhana was seen in an objectionable position with a woman.

Lawyer suspended for inappropriate behavior: The video went viral on Tuesday. The lawyer was sent to police custody in Karnataka in a sexual abuse case.

A Mangaluru court on Tuesday sent advocate KSN Rajesh to four-day police custody in a sexual assault case. A case of sexual harassment was filed against him by his intern law student on October 18.

He was absconding for two months and surrendered before the Judicial First Class Magistrate on Monday.

602 new infected found in Tamil Nadu.

With the arrival of 602 new cases of Covid-19 in Tamil Nadu on Tuesday, the total number of infected people increased to 27,41,013 while the death toll reached 36,691 due to the death of five more patients due to infection.

According to the State Health Department, 691 people were cured of the infection in the state during the last 24 hours.

Tamil Nadu Medical and Family Welfare Minister M Subramaniam said that the construction work to set up 11 medical colleges in the state has been completed and 1,450 of these colleges have been completed. Admission of students will start ‘soon’.
