The court has directed the Center to prepare this buffer stock within four days and said that the level of oxygen availability in this buffer stock should be maintained daily.

The court has clarified that this buffer stock of oxygen designed to deal with emergencies will be different from the quota of oxygen allocated to the states.

Asked to formulate a national policy in two weeks about the hospitalization of patients.

The court has directed the central government to formulate a national policy regarding the hospitalization of patients within two weeks. All state governments will follow that policy.

The court has said that as long as the central government makes a national policy in this regard, no patient in any state or union territory is forbidden to be hospitalized or given necessary medicines for lack of local residence or identity card.

The court said that the central government should review the measures and protocols taken. This includes the availability of oxygen, the availability, and price of the vaccine, the affordable price of essential medicines.

The court has also sought replies from the Center to the next hearing on other issues raised in the order.
