Lockdown In New Zealand’s Auckland Until 26 August

Lockdown in New Zealand’s Auckland until 26 August, Prime Minister Jacinda announced. Last week the entire city was locked down after four members of an Auckland family became infected, but the coronavirus continues to spread to other parts of the country.

The Prime Minister has decided to extend it till 26 August, in view of the cases of infection in New Zealand’s Auckland last week. In spite of strict lockdowns and police wearing masks on the streets, the infection is spreading across the country from Auckland, the largest city.

Health Minister Chris Hipkins said that there are more than 12 cases of community transmission. He reported that two infections were found in Tokora’s North Island, 210 km south of Auckland.

Auckland will remain lockdown till 26 August

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said on Friday that in the country’s largest city of Auckland, they have extended the lockdown for 12 more days, after which the city will remain locked down until August 26, which means that physical distance and facemask.

There will be strictness regarding the rules related to the Prime Minister further said that the situation will be reviewed on August 21. Label 2’s alert will continue in the rest of the country. Earlier, he had also extended the dates of general elections to be held in the country. On Tuesday, four members of an Auckland family were found to be infected, while in New Zealand there had been no new case for 102 days.

100 people were infected in March

There were no reported cases of corona in the country for the last three months. The lockdown was strictly enforced in New Zealand in March when the corona infection was confirmed to 100 people, resulting in a ban on the spread of Covid-19 in the country. New Zealand was then praised worldwide.

The total number of infected people in the country has increased to 1,570 after new cases of infection. At the same time, a total of 22 people have died due to infection so far. Novel coronavirus, born in Wuhan province of China at the end of last year, has caused worldwide outrage.
