Lon Varratu campaign being successful in Chhattisgarh, 13 Naxalites including 2 women surrender in Dantewada.
In Chhattisgarh, Naxalites are surrendering continuously under the Lon Varratu or Homecoming Campaign run by the state government.
The administration started this campaign in the year 2020 with the aim of bringing the Naxalites into the mainstream. Under this campaign, 13 Naxalites have now surrendered in the state.
Out of these 13 people, 3 had announced the prize money. It was surrendered by Naxalites in Dantewada. According to the statement released by the police, 13 men have 11 men and 2 women.
All surrendered yesterday in front of Dantewada Superintendent of Police Abhishek Pallava.
Superintendent of Police Abhishek Pallava said that the operation was started in June 2020. He said that 310 Naxalites have surrendered to the police in the last eight months, out of which 77 Naxalites have declared rewarded.
He informed that the district administration will provide Rs 10,000 as rehabilitation assistance to the surrendering people under the campaign.
Explain that under the Homecoming Campaign, Naxalites are being given the opportunity to surrender.
Naxal inf Police of Dantewada district has also put up posters and banners in their villages to encourage the Naxalites to join the mainstream of dropping arms.
The police have told the Naxalites that they will leave the weapon and return to the village.
At the same time, the phone numbers of senior officers have also been given in these posters, through which Naxalites can contact.
Dantewada district Superintendent of Police Abhishek Pallava said that a campaign has been carried out in the area named Lallon Varartu. ‘Lone Varartu’ is a word from the local Gondi dialect and means to return to your village.
