Lord Shiva’s Idol Was Found Damaged In Doda

Lord Shiva’s idol was found damaged in Doda, and Hindu organizations were furious; police registered a case.

Hindu organizations have erupted after the idol of Lord Shiva was found damaged in Chhota Mani-Mahesh Ram Rachna Mandir in Doda’s repair.

Hindu organizations have demanded an inquiry. At the same time, the police started the investigation by registering a case against some unknown people.

The temple is built in Ram Rachna Maidan, about 90 km from Doda city. The idol in the temple situated at an altitude of 12,300 feet has been found partially damaged.

It is said that after melting the snow, some devotees went to the temple and found the idol of Lord Shiva broken. After this, a written complaint was filed at the police post in Goha.

SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom said a police team from Goha along with members of the temple committee visited the spot.

According to a preliminary investigation by a senior police officer, the idol is made of concrete and is in the open. This is part of the investigation.

The image was taken in April and also shows some signs of wear and tear on the idol. People should maintain communal harmony.

Hindu organizations in Doda and Kishtwar said that some people are giving some other twist to the matter. Police should investigate this matter impartially.

At the same time, in a video that has gone viral on the internet media, a man claiming to be the priest of the temple dismissed the apprehensions of breaking the idol.

Idols have been damaged at these places: Recently an idol of Lord Hanuman was found damaged in Dhamalar-Moda village of Mahanpur, Kathua.

Lord Shiva’s idol was found damaged in Doda: On April 8, a temple was vandalized in Jammu’s Sidra area.

There was an incident of alleged damage to an idol at Vasuki Nag temple in the upper areas of Doda district on June 5 and an idol in Kathua district on July 12.

The ground covered with snow: The grassland of Ram-Rachana would have been covered with snow for six months. There the idol of Lord Shiva is made of concrete.

Every year around 20 to 25 thousand pilgrims from Doda, Udhampur, Kathua, and Ramban districts come to worship in the high-altitude grassland between July and September after the snow melts.
