Lt Gen C Bansi Ponnappa Took Over As Deputy Chief of Army Staff

Lt Gen C Bansi Ponnappa took over as the Deputy  Chief of the Army Staff today.

Lt Gen Channira Bansi Ponnappa took over as the Deputy Chief of Army Staff (IS&C) of the Indian Army today.

The Indian Army has given information about his new assignment from its official Twitter account.

The post read that the Lieutenant General has the distinction of commanding the prestigious Vajra Sena.

About Lt Gen C Bansi Ponnappa.

Let us tell you that in 2012, Ponnappa was sent to Goma as part of the United Nations peacekeeping force in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

He has also been appointed Commander of the Monasco North Kiwi Brigade (NKB) and Brigadier General.

Not only this, but Lieutenant General Ponnappa C Bansi Ponnappa has also worked with Lieutenant General Carlos Alberto das Santos Cruz in Brazil.

Also in March 2013, he became the Force Commander of MONUSCO, succeeding Lt Gen Chandra Prakash of India.

Lieutenant General Bansi Ponnappa has created many records in his life, as well as he has been honored with various awards.

Talking about Lt Gen Bansi Ponnappa’s personal life, he hails from Nangla village near Bittangala in Virajpet taluk and is the son of Channira Ponnappa and Meera.

He is married to Nithya Medappa. They have two children, son Nishant serving in the Indian Navy as an officer, and daughter Sunaina studying in Bangalore.

Acid was thrown on sister-in-law in Delhi four years ago, arrested.

The Crime Bench of Rohini Sector-18 Delhi Police has arrested the accused in the acid attack case.

In the year 2018 in the Mangolpuri Delhi area, he attacked his sister-in-law along with other accomplices by throwing acid. It is alleged that he had also assaulted his sister-in-law.

The accused is Javed and the police have arrested him from his hideout in Wazirpur.

The accused has confessed that in the year 2007, his sister Najmin married Samshuddin resident F Block, Mangolpuri, Delhi.

Samshuddin has a long-standing property dispute with his brother Salimuddin, due to which there were frequent quarrels between them. Both brothers live in the same locality in Mangolpuri, Delhi.
