Lt Gen DP Pandey Said- Our Enemy Is Very Cunning

Lt Gen DP Pandey said – Our enemy is very cunning, despite the ceasefire, full of vigilance.

Army’s Chinar Corps Commander Lt Gen DP Pandey said on Tuesday that ceasefire is going on along the LoC in North Kashmir for the last one year but we have not reduced our level of alertness at all.

We are fully alert because our enemy is very cunning. He said that we want to continue the ceasefire so that the common people living on both sides of the LoC can live in a safe and peaceful environment.

He also reiterated his appeal to the local youth who turned into terrorists to return to the mainstream on the occasion.

Talking to reporters after a function here today, the Corps Commander said that it was the compulsion of Pakistan which in February last year announced the resumption of ceasefire and stopped shelling.

What was the motive behind this and what did Pakistan want next, only time will tell? To know this, we are continuously monitoring the situation.

Lt Gen DP Pandey said that terrorist violence is decreasing and I urge the Kashmiri youth to fight against those elements who incite them to take up guns against their society and nation.

He said that the people of Kashmir have to be completely wary of those elements who themselves are leading a good life abroad and inculcating fanatic jihadi mentality within them to destroy the future.

He said that we are dealing with an enemy who only looks after his selfishness. That’s why Pakistan has restored the ceasefire.

I think on this side of this LoC not only for the people of Jammu and Kashmir but also for the citizens of slave Kashmir living across the LoC, both have benefited from the ceasefire.

The ceasefire continues, but we are taking full precautions.

The Pakistani army and its intelligence agency are still engaged in a conspiracy to push the infiltrators to this side.

In response to the question asked in the context of Republic Day, he said that the situation is completely calm and under control.

People are no longer afraid of terrorists and they openly come out with the tricolor. This time the demand for tricolor has increased here on the occasion of Republic Day.

This is a positive change, here the people of Kashmir have to beware of those elements who are always trying to spoil the situation here and instigate the local youth for anti-national activities.
