The Madras High Court, which has refused to ban the election campaigns of political parties due to the spread of the corona.

The court has directed the Election Commission to instruct political parties and candidates to wear individual masks during election campaigns.

In this connection, in the petition filed by Jalawudeen of Madurai Consignment Shop, the election for the Tamil Nadu Assembly has been announced on April 6.

He said that political parties are engaged in intense campaigning to win the votes of the people in the elections.

A nationwide curfew was imposed following the spread of the coronavirus in India last year. So the people were very much affected economically.

Political parties have expressed fears that the spread of the corona epidemic could escalate as they go on a rampage and campaign among the people, as the curfew has now been declared with relaxation.

He has demanded that the Tamil Nadu government and the Election Commission be ordered not to allow political parties to campaign as the corona has not been detected and is still being used for vaccination.

The petition also suggests that political parties can campaign through television, WhatsApp, Facebook, and Twitter.

When the petition came up for hearing before a bench comprising Chief Justice Sanjiv Banerjee and Justice Senthilkumar Ramamurthy.

The petitioner was informed that there was no response to the petition filed by the State of Tamil Nadu and the Election Commission on the 2nd.

Concerned that the recent rise in corona spreads could be the second wave, judges have refused to ban campaigns, saying the election announcement could not interfere with the election process, which is set to take place on April 6.

Meanwhile, the judges directed the Election Commission to issue instructions in this regard, advising political parties and candidates to ensure that everyone attending campaign meetings wears a face mask and adheres to individual human gaps.
