Manipur IED Explosion: One was killed, and five were injured in an IED blast inside a community hall in Manipur.

One person was killed and five others were injured in an IED explosion inside a community hall at Sapam Mayai Leikai in Khongjom, Manipur.

The injured were rushed to Thoubal Hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.

Thoubal Police said that a case has been registered after cordoning off the spot for forensic inspection. At present, the investigation is ongoing.

Six communities will get minority certificates on the basis of religion in Assam, the cabinet has approved the decision

The Assam government has announced to give minority certificates to six minority communities in the state.

State Health Minister Keshab Mahanta said that these certificates would be given to Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, and Parsis.

Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted that apart from this, the Assam cabinet has approved the decisions of the SOP of Amrit Sarovar Mission, PF dues of ATCL employees, and tax exemption for Green Tea Leaves employees.

The injured of the Assam agitation will get an ex-gratia of two lakhs.

The Assam government has approved an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh to those seriously injured in the 1979-85 agitation. For this work, the state government has made a provision of a total amount of Rs 6.90 crore.

This decision has been taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Biswa Sarma on Sunday.

The agitation against illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators in Assam during these six years was led by AASU (All Assam Students Union).

At that time, many other organizations in the state also gave full support to AASU. The movement came to an end after the Assam Accord in 1985.

Although many people lost their lives in this movement and many people were seriously injured.

State Health Minister Keshab Mahanta said that the government has also directed to pay one lakh rupees each to 1263 plantation families of Dolu Tea State.

This compensation is being given to Tea State as part of the development work of the greenfield airport in Silchar and the process of land acquisition.

A total provision of Rs 12.63 crore has been made by the state government for this work.
