According to Manipur Police, security forces recovered several items during a search operation in Phayeng Porom Hill and Ke Songlung area under Imphal West and Kangpokpi districts.

The items recovered by the security forces include 11 live rounds of SLR ammunition, one SLR magazine, 66 empty SLR cartridges, one radio set battery and antenna, 102 empty AK 47 cartridges, two empty SLR cartridges, one 12-bore cartridge, and one locally made bomb.

The police statement said that after the incident on October 1, it was found that the stolen vehicle was used by Asim Kanan Singh, an AT member of Uripok Sorbon Thingal in Imphal West, and his accomplices. At that time, armed miscreants forcibly snatched an SUV (Fortuner) from a civilian in Imphal West.

Raid at accused’s house, air gun recovered

Meanwhile, on Sunday, a joint team of security forces raided the residence of Asim Kanan Singh but could not trace the accused or his accomplices. However, several items including a DVD machine of CCTV camera, an I-20 vehicle, three bags, a yellow life jacket marked SDRF, an air gun (Toofan MOD-18) and two bulletproof jackets were seized during the raid.
